Meals on Wheels America rinde homenaje a Wilda Belisle

Kissimmee, FL – El 28 de agosto de 2019, Meals on Wheels America anunció a Wilda Belisle, Directora de Nutrición del Osceola Council on Aging en Kissimmee, como la ganadora del segundo Premio Anual de la Hermana Alice Marie Quinn.
Nuevo en 2018, el Premio Hermana Alice Marie Quinn se estableció para celebrar la vida y las contribuciones de uno de los líderes más respetados e influyentes de la red Meals on Wheels de todos los tiempos. Una dietista registrada, la Hermana Alice Marie, conocida cariñosamente como SAM, fundó St. Vincent Meals on Wheels en Los Ángeles, CA, en 1977, y a través de su liderazgo y espíritu, dejó una marca indeleble en la comunidad nacional de Meals on Wheels.
Con el legado de la Hermana Alice Marie en mente, este premio honra a un líder actual en la red de Meals on Wheels que encarna su compasión, dedicación y contribución, y que trabaja para unir y avanzar en el movimiento Meals on Wheels a nivel nacional. Los miembros de Meals on Wheels America fueron invitados a presentar nominaciones en junio de 2019. Un comité de revisión redujo el campo de nominados antes de que la Junta Directiva de Meals on Wheels America votara sobre la selección final.

Meals on Wheels America honors Wilda Belisle of Osceola Council on Aging

Kissimmee, FL – On August 28, 2019, Meals on Wheels America announced Wilda Belisle, Nutrition Director for Osceola Council on Aging in Kissimmee, FL, as the recipient of the second annual Sister Alice Marie Quinn Award.
New in 2018, the Sister Alice Marie Quinn Award was established to celebrate the life and contributions of one of the Meals on Wheels network’s most respected and influential leaders of all time. A registered dietician, Sister Alice Marie – affectionately known as SAM – founded St. Vincent Meals on Wheels in Los Angeles, CA, in 1977, and through her leadership and spirit, left an indelible mark on the national Meals on Wheels community.
With Sister Alice Marie’s legacy in mind, this award honors a current leader in the Meals on Wheels network who embodies her compassion, dedication and contribution, and who works to unite and advance the nationwide Meals on Wheels movement. Meals on Wheels America Members were invited to submit nominations in June of 2019. A review committee narrowed the field of nominees before the Meals on Wheels America Board of Directors voted on the final selection.
The 2019 Sister Alice Marie Quinn Award was presented during the Meals on Wheels Annual Conference and Expo on Tuesday, August 27, in Dallas, TX, in front of leaders and staff of nearly 350 local Meals on Wheels programs from across the country.
