Condado Osceola, FL – El programa “Meals on Wheels” del Osceola Council on Aging organizó la campaña nacional de marzo del 2021 “KUA Presenta la Marcha por las Comidas 5K”. El evento tuvo lugar el sábado, 13 de marzo de 2021 en el Kissimmee Lakefront Park e incluyó una carrera de 5K (3.1 millas) y caminata para individuos y/o equipos corporativos y familiares.
Con más de 300 participantes y más de 22 equipos participando, el evento fue un éxito total y todos lo pasaron muy bien y se vistieron con su mejor verde.
Recogieron más de $25,000 para el programa “Osceola Meals on Wheels”. El Osceola Council on Aging agradece a todos aquellos que salieron a apoyar la lucha contra el hambre en el Condado Osceola. También desean agradecer a KUA, Toho Water Authority, City of Kissimmee, United Healthcare, Florida Blue, Magic Development, Infill Consulting Services, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, y muchos más que ayudaron a que este evento fuera posible.
March for Meals es una campaña nacional que se lleva a cabo durante el mes de marzo, iniciada y patrocinada por la “Meals on Wheels Association of America” para crear conciencia sobre el hambre de las personas mayores y alentar la acción por parte de las comunidades locales. Cientos de programas de nutrición para personas de la tercera edad en los Estados Unidos, como “Meals on Wheels”, promueven la Marcha para las Comidas del Osceola Council on Aging a través de eventos públicos, asociaciones con empresas locales, reclutamiento voluntario e iniciativas de recaudación de fondos.


Meals on Wheels

Osceola County, FL – The Osceola Council on Aging “Meals on Wheels” program hosted the national 2021 March for Meals campaign “KUA Presents March for Meals 5K.” The event took place on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park and included a 5K (3.1 mile) run and walk for individuals and/or corporate and family teams.
With over 300 participants and over 22 teams participating, the event was a total success and everyone had a great time and dressed up in their best Green.
They raised over $25,000 for the Osceola Meals on Wheels program. The Osceola Council on Aging is thankful for all those who came out to support fighting hunger in Osceola County. They would also like to thank KUA, Toho Water Authority, City of Kissimmee, United Healthcare, Florida Blue, Magic Development, Infill Consulting Services, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and so many more that helped make this event happen.
March for Meals is a national campaign held during the month of March, initiated and sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of America to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on the part of local communities. Hundreds of Senior Nutrition Programs across the United States, like Meals on Wheels, promote Osceola Council on Aging March for Meals through public events, partnerships with local businesses, volunteer recruitment and fundraising
