Orlando, FL - El Orlando Magic han comenzado la temporada de buena forma, pero Dwight Howard continúa dando a entender que quiere ser intercambiado ha otro equipo. El ha jugado bien el comienzo de la temporada y ha dicho que dará lo mejor mientras esté en el equipo. Orlando no ha estado buscando activamente intercambiar a su hombre grande, pero puede que comiencen pronto.
La fecha límite para los intercambios en la NBA es el 15 de marzo, pero si no es intercambiado para entonces, puede salirse del equipo como agente libre luego de la temporada, dejando al Magic sin nada a cambio. Este fue un error que el Magic dejo que pasara con Shaq años atrás, así que no nos podemos imaginar que permitan que suceda otra vez. Howard ha hecho claro que está más interesado en ir con New Jersey, Dallas o el LA Lakers. La gerencia de Orlando no ha estado muy contenta con ninguna de las posibles ofertas que han recibido de estos equipos, pero pueden verse forzados a tomar lo que puedan obtener de ellos. Ellos tienen el derecho de intercambiar a Dwight a cualquier equipo de deseen, pero cualquier equipo que esté buscando adquirirlo va a querer saber si él está dispuesto a firmar un nuevo contrato con ellos. Si Howard no quiere ser intercambiado a un equipo, esté les va a decir que no va a firmar contrato y el equipo no estaría dispuesto a darle a Orlando un jugador de mucho valor a cambio de Howard.
Otis Smith y el resto de la gerencia de Orlando están realmente en una difícil posición. Pueden finalmente querer que Howard se quede en Orlando, pero hasta ahora no están haciendo un buen trabajo para que esto pase. Si tienen que intercambiarlo, puede que puedan escoger hacia donde y por quien, pero sin una garantía de que Howard va a volver a firmar, va a ser difícil.
Howard still looking for trade

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Magic have gotten off to a decent start to the season, but Dwight Howard continues to hint at wanting to be traded from the team. He has played well to begin the season and has always said he will give it his all as long as he is with the team. Orlando has not been actively looking to trade the big man, but they may have to start soon.
The NBA trade deadline is March 15, and if he is not traded by then, he could walk away from the team as a free agent after the season, leaving the Magic with nothing in return. This is a mistake the Magic allowed to happen with Shaq years ago, so you can’t imagine they are ready to let it happen again. Howard has made it clear that he is most interested in going to New Jersey, Dallas or to the LA Lakers. Orlando management hasn’t been thrilled with any of the possible offers seen from any of these teams, but may be forced to take what they can get from them. They have the right to trade Dwight to any team they want, but any team looking to acquire him would want to know that he is willing to sign a new contract with them. If Howard doesn’t want to be traded to a team, he will tell them he won’t re-sign and they will not be willing to give Orlando much value in exchange for him.
Otis Smith and the rest of Orlando’s management are in a really tough position. They would ultimately like Howard to stay in Orlando, but are not doing a good job of making that happen as of yet. If they have to trade him, they would like to be able to choose where to and for whom, but without a guarantee from Howard that he will resign, that is going to be difficult.
