St. Cloud, FL – La Ciudad de St. Cloud sigue adelante con los planes de darle la bienvenida a una escuela de enfermería a la ciudad. Durante un taller el 19 de enero, el Concilio de la Ciudad de St. Cloud estuvo de acuerdo en permitir financiación del proyecto para permitirle a Herzing University a incorporar un recinto dentro de un edificio de la Ciudad. Este edificio ahora es ocupado por un colegio privado – Southland Christian School – localizado en el 2901 17th St. El colegio privado arrienda el edificio, pero se mudará a otro lugar y desocupará el edificio de la Ciudad en mayo. La Junta de Comisionados del Condado de Osceola también aceptó un acuerdo con la Ciudad de St. Cloud el 23 de enero durante un taller.
“Con este recinto en St. Cloud, los residentes del Condado de Osceola que desean entrar en el campo médico podrán ir a una escuela local que mejor los prepara para las oportunidades de trabajo que están cerca”, dijo la alcaldesa de St. Cloud, Rebecca Borders. “Esta escuela ofrece una variedad de programas incluyendo licenciatura en enfermería registrada que permitirá a los residentes a competir dentro del mercado de trabajo médico que existe ahora y estará ampliando en esta área. Por ejemplo, tenemos al St. Cloud Regional Medical Center al otro lado de la calle enfrente de este edificio y tenemos todas las oportunidades que vienen de Lake Nona y las expansiones de hospitales en Kissimmee y Poinciana. Todos ganamos con esto y estamos muy contentos al comenzar este proyecto y al trabajar con el gobierno del Condado de Osceola y Herzing University”.
El edificio de 16,000 pies cuadrados será restaurado y la Ciudad de St. Cloud y Herzing University comenzarán un contrato de arrendamiento temprano de 10 años en el año 2013.
Herzing University tiene un recinto en Florida (Winter Park) y tiene otros recintos en ocho estados y Canadá. La universidad ofrece grados asociados y de bachillerato en enfermería e información de salud. También ofrece diplomas de cursos en tratamiento médico de emergencia, certificado para ayudante de enfermería, facturación médica, y ayudante en los campos médicos. Nursing school plans move forward in St. Cloud
St. Cloud, FL – City of St. Cloud is moving forward with plans to welcome a nursing school to the city. During a workshop January 19, St. Cloud City Council agreed to proceed with project funding to allow Herzing University to incorporate a campus within a City building, now occupied by the private school Southland Christian School, located at 2901 17th St. The private school leases the building, but will be moving to another location and will vacate the City building by May. The Osceola County Board of Commission also agreed to proceed with the project January 23 during a workshop.
“With this campus in St. Cloud, Osceola County residents wishing to enter the medical field will be able to attend a local school that better prepares them for nearby job opportunities,” said St. Cloud Mayor Rebecca Borders. “This school offers a variety of programs up to and including registered nurse degrees that will allow residents to compete within the medical job market that is present and expanding in our area. For example, we have St. Cloud Regional Medical Center just across the street from this building and we have all the opportunities that are up and coming at Lake Nona and the hospital expansions in Kissimmee and Poinciana. It’s a win-win situation and we are very excited about starting this project and working with Osceola County government and Herzing University.”
The 16,000-square-foot building will be renovated and City of St. Cloud and Herzing University should begin a 10-year leasing contract by early 2013.
Herzing University has one campus in Florida (Winter Park) and has locations in eight states and Canada. The university offers bachelors and associates degrees in nursing and health information. It also offers diploma courses in the emergency medical treatment, certified nursing assistant, medical billing, and medical assistant fields.
