Kissimmee, FL – El voleibol universitario femenino de primer nivel llegará a Kissimmee el próximo 9 de septiembre, cuando cuatro programas ubicados entre los mejores 25 de la nación se enfrenten en el Shriners Children’s Showdown at the Net, que se disputará en el State Farm Field House del ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, en Walt Disney World Resort.
La jornada reunirá a Pittsburgh, Stanford, Texas A&M y Tennessee, cuatro equipos que aparecen en el Top 25 de la encuesta de pretemporada de la American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Pittsburgh ocupa el puesto No. 4, seguido por Stanford en el No. 5, Texas A&M en el No. 8 y Tennessee en el No. 22.
El atractivo de la competencia aumenta con la presencia de Texas A&M, campeón nacional vigente de la NCAA, después de conquistar el título de 2025. Stanford, por su parte, cuenta con nueve campeonatos nacionales de la NCAA, mientras Pittsburgh ha alcanzado las semifinales nacionales durante cinco temporadas consecutivas. Tennessee también llega con experiencia en la postemporada tras participar en cinco torneos consecutivos de la NCAA.
El programa en Kissimmee comenzará con el encuentro entre Pittsburgh y Tennessee a las 6:30 p.m., seguido por Texas A&M frente a Stanford a las 9:00 p.m. Ambos partidos serán transmitidos nacionalmente por ESPN2.

Four NCAA Top 25 teams set to face off in Kissimmee

Kissimmee, FL – Top-level women’s college volleyball is coming to Kissimmee on September 9, when four of the nation’s Top 25 programs compete in the Shriners Children’s Showdown at the Net at State Farm Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.
The event will feature Pittsburgh, Stanford, Texas A&M and Tennessee, all ranked in the Top 25 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll. Pittsburgh enters the season at No. 4, followed by Stanford at No. 5, Texas A&M at No. 8 and Tennessee at No. 22.
Adding to the event’s national profile, Texas A&M enters as the reigning NCAA national champion after capturing the 2025 title. Stanford has won nine NCAA national championships, while Pittsburgh has advanced to the national semifinals in five consecutive seasons. Tennessee also brings postseason experience, having earned five straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
The action in Kissimmee will begin with Pittsburgh facing Tennessee at 6:30 p.m., followed by Texas A&M taking on Stanford at 9 p.m. Both matches will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
