Kissimmee, FL – El Departamento de Parques y Recreación de la Ciudad de Kissimmee completó con éxito un Inventario de Árboles en toda la ciudad, posible gracias a una subvención de $50,000 del Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program.
El proyecto incluyó la contratación de una empresa especializada para evaluar el tamaño, la especie y el estado de los árboles bajo el mantenimiento municipal, identificar necesidades de poda o de cuidado y registrar la ubicación de líneas eléctricas aéreas cercanas. La empresa seleccionada, PlanIT Geo, Inc., implementó el proyecto y entregó una base de datos digital actualizable que permitirá a la ciudad planificar y administrar mejor su arbolado urbano a largo plazo.
La información recopilada ayudará a orientar futuras estrategias para ampliar y proteger la cobertura de árboles, optimizar el mantenimiento y respaldar decisiones de planificación urbana responsables en beneficio de la comunidad.

City of Kissimmee completes citywide tree inventory to strengthen Urban Forest Planning
Kissimmee, FL – The City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department has completed a comprehensive Citywide Tree Inventory, made possible through $50,000 in funding from the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program.
The project included hiring an experienced local contractor to assess the size, species, and condition of City-maintained trees, identify maintenance needs, and document the location of overhead utilities. The selected contractor, PlanIT Geo, Inc., implemented the initiative and delivered a dynamic, living database that will support the City’s long-term urban forest management efforts.
The data collected will also help guide future tree canopy planning, improve maintenance strategies, and support informed urban development decisions throughout the community.
The City extends its appreciation to the U.S. Forest Service, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the Florida Forest Service for their technical and financial support in advancing this important environmental initiative.
