Condado Osceola, FL – La Comisionada Viviana Janer del Distrito 2 acompañó, el 2 de diciembre, a miembros de la comunidad y líderes del Condado a la Biblioteca de Buenaventura Lakes para la develación de OLLie, el nuevo enlace de la Biblioteca de Osceola, una unidad móvil y completamente equipada.
Diseñada para expandir el acceso a los servicios bibliotecarios, OLLie representa un gran paso adelante en como el Condado Osceola le lleva aprendizaje, tecnología y servicios comunitarios a sus residentes—acudiendo a las familias en donde ellas se encuentran y llevando servicios esenciales directamente a sus comunidades.
Alimentado por energía solar que hace funcionar a un generador a bordo, OLLie ofrece una gama de funciones que facilitan la programación móvil y al aire libre, incluyendo un toldo externo, una pantalla de televisión y colecciones de libros, juegos, juguetes y materiales de participación.
En su interior, la unidad móvil funciona como un centro tecnológico y de aprendizaje, equipado con:
- Cinco computadoras portátiles Chromebook para tutorías tecnológicas
- Puntos de acceso Wi-Fi capaces de apoyar hasta 100 dispositivos
- Servicios de impresión in situ
- Una selección de materiales disponibles para prestar
OLLie estará haciendo paradas bisemanales de cuatro a cinco horas en áreas como Holopaw y Oren Brown Park, con más localidades planificadas incluyendo la Estación 75 de Bomberos y Sunbridge. La biblioteca móvil también hará paradas en conjunto con organizaciones locales y estará disponible para visitas solicitadas por la comunidad a parques, eventos y reuniones comunitarias.
“Este esfuerzo nos permite alcanzar a partes del Condado Osceola que aún no tienen bibliotecas cerca, al igual que a comunidades en crecimiento” dijo la Comisionada Viviana Janer. “Al traer lectura de cuentos, ayuda tecnológica, Wi-Fi, materiales para prestar y otros recursos bibliotecarios directamente a la puerta de los residentes, nos estamos asegurando que todos tengan acceso al aprendizaje y conexión.”

Osceola County unveils OLLie, it’s On-The-Go Mobile Library Unit
Osceola County, FL – Osceola County District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer was joined by community members and County leaders on December 2nd at the Buenaventura Lakes Library to unveil OLLie, the County’s new Osceola Library Link and fully equipped Library on the Move.
Designed to expand access to library services, OLLie represents a major step forward in how Osceola County delivers learning, technology, and community resources to residents — meeting families where they are and bringing essential services directly into neighborhoods.
Powered by solar energy that runs an onboard generator, OLLie offers a range of features that support outdoor and mobile programming, including an exterior awning, TV display, and collections of books, games, toys, and engagement materials.
Inside, the mobile unit functions as a comprehensive tech and learning hub, equipped with:
- Five Chromebook laptops for technology tutoring
- Wi-Fi hotspots capable of supporting up to 100 devices
- On-site printing services
- A diverse selection of materials available for checkout
OLLie will make regular bi-monthly stops of four to five hours in areas such as Holopaw and Oren Brown Park, with additional planned locations including Fire Station 75 and Sunbridge. The mobile library will also host monthly partnership stops with local organizations and will be available for community-requested visits to parks, events, and neighborhood gatherings.
“This effort allows us to reach parts of Osceola County that don’t have a nearby library, as well as new and growing communities,” said Commissioner Viviana Janer. “By bringing story time, tech help, Wi-Fi, materials for checkout, and library resources right to residents’ doorsteps, we are ensuring everyone has access to learning and connection.”
The County extended its gratitude to the Osceola Library System team and Outreach staff for their commitment to expanding educational access and serving residents across the community.
