Kissimmee, FL – La Ciudad de Kissimmee da el siguiente paso en la transformación del corredor de Vine Street con el inició, el 9 de marzo, de la demolición de la antigua propiedad de Kmart, ubicada en el 2211 W. Vine Street.
La Vine Street Community Redevelopment Agency está llevando a cabo la demolición de la estructura existente como primer paso para preparar el terreno de 22 acres para su reurbanización. Una vez finalizada la demolición, se espera que la propiedad sea adquirida y desarrollada por Vine Street Redevelopment, LLC, una alianza entre CapStrata y Hedrick Brothers Development, seleccionada por la Junta de la Vine Street Community Redevelopment Agency.
Se proyecta que el sitio se convierta en un vibrante destino de uso mixto que incluya nuevas viviendas, comercios y amenidades recreativas para la comunidad. Los planes preliminares contemplan aproximadamente 630 unidades residenciales, más de 51,000 pies cuadrados de espacio comercial y de venta al por menor, y una instalación deportiva cubierta de 73,400 pies cuadrados, diseñada para servir como centro comunitario.
“Este es un hito emocionante para nuestra comunidad”, dijo la alcaldesa Jackie Espinosa. “Con el inicio de la demolición, seguimos avanzando en un proyecto que aportará nueva energía, oportunidades e inversión al corredor vial de Vine Street”.
Ubicado en el Área de Reurbanización Comunitaria de Vine Street, el proyecto representa una de las inversiones más significativas en el corredor en décadas y se espera que atraiga nuevos negocios y fortalezca la actividad económica en el área.

Former Kmart demolition kicks off Vine Street transformation
Kissimmee, FL – The City of Kissimmee is taking the next step in transforming the Vine Street corridor as demolition began on March 9th at the former Kmart property located at 2211 W. Vine Street.
The Vine Street Community Redevelopment Agency is undertaking demolition of the existing structure as the first step in preparing the 22-acre site for redevelopment. Once demolition is complete, the property is expected to be acquired and developed by Vine Street Redevelopment, LLC, a partnership between CapStrata and Hedrick Brothers Development, which was selected by the Vine Street Community Redevelopment Agency Board.
The site is planned to become a vibrant mixed-use destination that will introduce new housing, retail, and recreational amenities to the community. Preliminary plans envision approximately 630 residential units, more than 51,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and a 73,400-square-foot indoor sports facility designed to serve as a community hub.
“This is an exciting milestone for our community,” said Mayor Jackie Espinosa. “With demolition beginning, we’re moving forward with a project that will bring new energy, opportunity, and investment to the Vine Street corridor.”
Located within the Vine Street Community Redevelopment Area, the project represents one of the most significant reinvestments in the corridor in decades. It is expected to attract new businesses and strengthen economic activity in the area.
