Condado Osceola, FL – El Comisionado del Condado Osceola, Brandon Arrington, junto a Second Harvest Food Bank, trajo alegría navideña a la comunidad al distribuir 600 paquetes de comidas gratis en un evento de distribución de alimentos navideños. El evento se llevó a cabo en la iglesia St. Rose of Lima en Kissimmee.
Cada paquete de comida incluía alimentos básicos navideños como pavo, papas, frutas, verduras, carnes congeladas y otros alimentos esenciales.
“Se trata de hacer nuestra parte para que las familias locales puedan celebrar las fiestas con dignidad y alegría”, dijo el Comisionado Arrington. “Estamos agradecidos de la ayuda recibida por el Second Harvest Food Bank, la iglesia St. Rose of Lima y por nuestros increíbles voluntarios. Gracias a ellos este evento fue posible”.
La distribución, tipo “drive-thru” se realizó por orden de llegada y no se requirió identificación para participar. Entre los voluntarios figuraban estudiantes de New Dimensions High School, quienes contribuyeron con su tiempo y energía para que el evento fuera un éxito.
“Esta asociación es un testimonio de lo que se puede lograr cuando nos unimos para ayudar a nuestros vecinos”, agregó el Comisionado Arrington.
La próxima distribución de alimentos del Condado Osceola se llevó a cabo el miércoles 18 de diciembre en el Archie Gordon Park (420 Buenaventura Blvd, Kissimmee, FL 34743) de 8 a.m. a 12 p.m.

600 families receive holiday meals at food distribution event hosted by Commissioner Brandon Arrington and Second Harvest Food Bank
Osceola County, FL – Osceola County Commissioner Brandon Arrington, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, brought holiday cheer to the community by distributing 600 free meal packages at a Holiday Food Distribution event. Held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 3880 Pleasant Hill Road, Kissimmee, FL, the event ran from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. but saw lines forming as early as 7 a.m.
Each meal package included holiday staples such as turkey, potatoes, fruits, vegetables, frozen meats, and other essential food items, ensuring local families could enjoy a festive holiday season.
“This is about ensuring that everyone in our community can celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy,” said Commissioner Arrington. “We’re grateful to Second Harvest Food Bank, St. Rose of Lima Church, and our incredible volunteers for making this event possible.”
The drive-thru distribution operated on a first-come, first-served basis, with no identification required to participate. Volunteers, including spirited students from New Dimensions High School, contributed their time and energy to make the event a success.
“This partnership is a testament to what can be accomplished when we come together to support those in need,” Commissioner Arrington added.
The next Osceola County food distribution was held on Wednesday, 12/18 at the Archie Gordon Park (420 Buenaventura Blvd, Kissimmee, FL 34743) from 8am-12pm.
