Kissimmee, FL – El viernes 26 de enero, se presentó la asamblea Online Safety Roadshow de Google a los estudiantes de Parkway Middle School para ayudarlos a aprender cómo ser inteligentes y mantenerse seguros en línea. El representante de los Estados Unidos, Darren Soto (FL-09), se unió a la asamblea hablando con los estudiantes sobre el impacto local que tiene la seguridad en Internet en los niños y participando en juegos educativos interactivos.
“Gracias a Google por traer el Online Safety Roadshow a Florida y ayudar a enseñar a los estudiantes cómo ser ‘Internet awesome’ de una manera divertida e interactiva que recordarán”, dijo el congresista Soto. “En el mundo digital de hoy, estos consejos y trucos en línea ayudarán a los jóvenes de nuestra comunidad a mantenerse seguros y amables en línea”.
Los estudiantes pasaron el programa de 45 minutos aprendiendo habilidades importantes, incluyendo cómo crear una contraseña segura y memorable, evitar hablar con extraños, priorizar el bienestar y ser amable en línea.
El evento es parte de la iniciativa de Google para ayudar a empoderar a los jóvenes con las herramientas y la capacitación que necesitan para explorar en línea de manera segura. El Roadshow de seguridad en línea de Google se basa en el plan de estudios Be Internet Awesome, que se centra en cinco consejos para mantenerse seguro y ser inteligente en línea. Esos consejos incluyen:

• No caiga en estafas falsas en línea
• Proteja su información con contraseñas seguras
• Sé amable con los demás en línea
• En caso de duda, hable con un adulto de confianza

Google Teaches Florida Students How to be Safe Online
Kissimmee, FL – On Friday, January 26, Google’s Online Safety Roadshow assembly was presented to students at Parkway Middle School to help them learn how to be smart and stay safe online. US Representative Darren Soto (FL-09) joined the assembly by speaking to students about the local impact internet safety has on kids and participating in interactive education games.
“Thanks to Google for bringing the Online Safety Roadshow to Florida and helping teach students how to be ‘internet awesome’ in a fun and interactive way that they’ll remember,” said Congressman Soto. “In today’s digital world, these online tips and tricks will help the youth in our community stay safe and kind online.”
Students spent the 45-minute program learning important skills, including how to create a safe and memorable password, avoid talking to strangers, prioritize well being, and be kind online.
The event is part of Google’s initiative to help empower young people with tools and training they need to safely explore online. Google is dedicated to creating safe experiences for children across its platforms with strong parental protections and dedicated features that help young people and their parents navigate their time online.

Google’s Online Safety Roadshow is based on the Be Internet Awesome curriculum, which focuses on five tips for staying safe and being smart online. Those tips include:
- Sharing content with care
- Don’t fall for fake online scams
- Secure your information with strong passwords
- Be kind to others online
- When in doubt, talk it out with a trusted adult
