St. Cloud, FL – El Departamento de Policía de St. Cloud se enorgullece de anunciar el ascenso de Denise Roberts al rango de subjefa.
Desde su incorporación al departamento en 2001, Roberts ha ascendido en todos los rangos, siendo el más reciente el de capitana. Su trayectoria se ha caracterizado por su compromiso con los pilares de la policía del siglo XXI y la implementación de tecnología policial de vanguardia. Roberts reemplaza al ex subjefe Kirk Zilke, quien se jubiló en diciembre del año pasado.

A lo largo de su carrera, Roberts ha dirigido diversas divisiones, incluyendo Operaciones de Patrulla, Operaciones Especiales e Investigaciones Criminales. Ha sido fundamental en la modernización del departamento, supervisando el Centro de Delitos en Tiempo Real y el exitoso lanzamiento en 2025 del programa Drone como Primer Respondiente (DFR). Su experiencia también abarca el comando de incidentes de alto riesgo, la resolución de casos sin resolver y la integración de plataformas avanzadas Axon y la capacitación en realidad virtual.
Líder bilingüe (inglés/español), Roberts tiene una maestría en Administración de las Fuerzas del Orden en Justicia Penal y es graduada de la prestigiosa Academia Nacional del FBI.

Denise Roberts to Deputy Chief
St. Cloud, FL — The St. Cloud Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Denise Roberts to the rank of Deputy Chief.
Since joining the department in 2001, Roberts has risen through every sworn rank, most recently serving as Captain. Her tenure has been defined by a commitment to the pillars of 21st-century policing and the implementation of cutting-edge law enforcement technology. Roberts fills the role of former Deputy Chief Kirk Zilke, who retired in December of last year.
“Denise Roberts embodies the integrity, vision, and collaborative spirit necessary to lead our department into the future,” said Police Chief Douglas Goerke. “Her deep roots in this community and her mastery of modern police operations make her the ideal choice for Deputy Chief.”
Throughout her career, Roberts has managed diverse divisions, including Patrol Operations, Special Operations, and Criminal Investigations. She has been instrumental in the department’s modernization, overseeing the Real-Time Crime Center and the successful 2025 launch of the Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. Her expertise also extends to high-risk incident command, cold case resolutions, and the integration of advanced Axon platforms and virtual reality training.
A bilingual leader (English/Spanish), Roberts holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Administration and is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy.
