Condado Osceola, FL – Poco después de las 11:00 p. m. del 9 de junio Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) recibió una llamada al 911 de una mujer que, desde su automóvil, informaba que estaba siendo perseguida por su exnovio. Reportó que él también estaba disparando contra su vehículo. Mientras los agentes acudían al lugar del incidente, la víctima y el sospechoso circulaban en dirección oeste por la carretera 192, cerca de la oficina del sheriff. El sospechoso embistió el automóvil de la víctima, obligándolo a cruzar hacia los carriles en dirección este de la misma vía. El vehículo de la víctima chocó contra la patrulla de un agente de la OCSO que acudía a atender la emergencia. Posteriormente, el sospechoso huyó del lugar en su vehículo. El agente fue trasladado al hospital con lesiones que no ponían en peligro su vida. Dos personas que viajaban en el automóvil de la víctima tuvieron que ser rescatadas del interior del vehículo; fueron trasladadas al hospital con heridas graves. El sospechoso fue detenido en su domicilio en St. Cloud.
El detenido en este incidente es Christian Andrés Rivera, de 21 años (fecha de nacimiento: 07/05/2005), residente de St. Cloud, Florida.
Se le han imputado los siguientes cargos:
2 cargos de intento de homicidio
Disparar un arma de fuego desde un vehículo
Fuga y evasión de un agente de policía

Vehículo de las víctimas: Mitsubishi Lancer blanco modelo 2014, conducido por un joven de 20 años de Kissimmee. Fue trasladado con heridas graves.
Su acompañante es una joven de 17 años de Kissimmee. Fue trasladada al hospital con heridas graves; sufrió una herida de bala y lesiones derivadas del choque.
Vehículo del sospechoso: BMW 330i modelo 2006.
La joven de 17 años es la exnovia del sospechoso. Él comenzó a perseguir el vehículo de ambos en la zona de Partin Settlement y disparó hacia el lado del pasajero del Mitsubishi.
El conductor del Mitsubishi intentó dirigirse al estacionamiento de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola mientras la joven de 17 años hablaba por teléfono con el servicio de emergencias 911. Mientras los vehículos de la víctima y del sospechoso circulaban por la carretera 192, el vehículo del sospechoso embistió por detrás al de la víctima. El vehículo de la víctima salió entonces de control hacia los carriles en dirección este y chocó contra una camioneta rotulada de la OCSO que acudía a atender el aviso. El agente recibió atención médica y fue dado de alta del hospital. Las dos víctimas permanecen hospitalizadas con heridas graves.
Tras el choque, el vehículo del sospechoso huyó de los agentes, tomó la autopista de peaje (turnpike) y apagó los faros para evitar ser capturado. Se dirigió a la casa de un familiar en St. Cloud.
Los agentes llegaron a la residencia y detuvieron al sospechoso sin incidentes. Fue ingresado en la cárcel del condado Osceola.
UPDATE: shooting and crash
Osceola County, FL – Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on June 9, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) received a 911 call from a woman reporting that she was being chased by her ex-boyfriend while driving. She reported that he was also firing shots at her vehicle. As deputies responded to the scene, both the victim and the suspect were traveling westbound on Highway 192, near the Sheriff’s Office. The suspect rammed the victim’s car, forcing it across into the eastbound lanes of the same road. The victim’s vehicle collided with an OCSO patrol car that was responding to the emergency. The suspect subsequently fled the scene in his vehicle. The deputy was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two occupants of the victim’s car had to be extricated from the vehicle; they were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at his home in St. Cloud.
The individual arrested in connection with this incident is Christian Andrés Rivera, 21 (DOB: 07/05/2005), a resident of St. Cloud, Florida.
He has been charged with the following:
2 counts of attempted homicide
Discharging a firearm from a vehicle
Fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer
Vehicles involved:
Victims’ vehicle: White 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by a 20-year-old male from Kissimmee. He was transported with serious injuries.
His passenger is a 17-year-old female from Kissimmee. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries; she sustained a gunshot wound and injuries resulting from the crash.
Suspect’s vehicle: 2006 BMW 330i.
The 17-year-old female is the suspect’s ex-girlfriend. He began pursuing their vehicle in the Partin Settlement area and fired shots at the passenger side of the Mitsubishi.
The driver of the Mitsubishi attempted to head toward the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office parking lot while the 17-year-old female passenger spoke with 911 dispatchers. As the victim’s and suspect’s vehicles traveled along Highway 192, the suspect’s vehicle rear-ended the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle then spun out of control into the eastbound lanes and collided with a marked OCSO patrol vehicle that was responding to the call. The deputy received medical treatment and was released from the hospital. The two victims remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
Following the crash, the suspect fled from deputies, got onto the turnpike, and turned off his headlights to evade capture. He drove to a relative’s home in St. Cloud.
Deputies arrived at the residence and took the suspect into custody without incident. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
