Tras 23 temporadas y con todos los récords existentes de este deporte, no alcanzan las palabras para describir su grandeza dentro y fuera del emparrillado. Sus marcas históricas, como 7 anillos, 10 Super Bowls jugados, 19 títulos divisionales, más de 100 mil yardas aéreas y casi 750 pases de anotación, entre otros, probablemente no los volveremos a ver en nuestras vidas. La historia de Brady es de película, ya que entró a la NFL como la selección #199 del draft, y pese a nunca ser el más atlético, tener el mejor brazo o ser el más preciso, fue una muestra de consistencia y excelencia tanto en Nueva Inglaterra como estos tres años en Tampa Bay. No queda más que agradecer y admirar al más grande en la historia del futbol americano, y apreciar todo lo que hizo en su carrera porque fue único e irrepetible. No lo dejaremos de ver, ahora estará en la cabina de Fox, narrando el deporte que tanto ama. ¡Gracias por todo, GOAT!
Tenemos Super Bowl
Increíblemente, pero en estos días el Super Bowl quedó en segundo plano. Al final del día, los dos mejores equipos se enfrenarán el Super Domingo este 12 de febrero. Eagles y Chiefs tuvieron el mejor récord de la liga (14-3), a los dos mariscales favoritos a MVP, y una cantidad absurdas de talento. Hay muchas historias que seguir previo al partido. Primero, por supuesto, está el duelo Mahomes vs Hurts, el primero entre mariscales afroamericanos en la historia del Super Bowl. El de los Chiefs tiene ya una carrera de salón de la fama apenas en su quinto año como titular, pero aún tiene la espinita clavada de jugar un gran Super Bowl, ya que en su primer intento lo hizo solo en el último cuarto, hace 3 años vs San Francisco, y en su segunda chance solo corrió por su vida y no pudo anotar, hace 2 años vs Tampa Bay. Hurts, en cambio, tuvo el mejor año de su vida, y es su oportunidad de redención tras ser banqueado en el campeonato nacional colegial hace 4 años con Alabama. Otro ángulo es el de los hermanos Kelce, ambos ya con un anillo y también encaminados al salón de la fama. Jason, el liniero, es el mejor de la liga en su posición, y un histórico de Philadelphia. Travis, por su parte, quiere alcanzar a Gronk como el mejor ala cerrada de la historia.
Por último, está Andy Reid. Hoy en su 10º año en Kansas City, Reid pudo por fin conseguir en 2020 el anillo que tanto se le negó como entrenador de Philadelphia por 13 años. Reid es amado en Philly, que hoy es dirigido por un pupilo suyo, Nick Sirianni. ¿Ganará el maestro o el aprendiz? ¿El Super Bowl regresará a Kansas City o a Philadelphia?
The GOAT is gone

Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL, for the second time, but now for good. After 23 seasons and with all the existing records in this sport, words aren’t enough to describe his greatness on and off the gridiron. His historical marks, such as 7 rings, 10 Super Bowls played, 19 divisional titles, more than 100,000 passing yards and almost 750 touchdown passes, among others, won’t probably be seen again in our lives. Brady’s story is like a movie, since he entered the NFL as the #199 pick in the draft, and despite never being the most athletic, accurate, or having the best arm, he was a sample of consistency and excellence both in New England and these three years in Tampa Bay. There’s nothing left to do but thank and admire the greatest in history of football, and appreciate everything he did in his career because it was unique and unrepeatable. We won’t stop seeing him, now he will be in the Fox booth, narrating the sport that he loves so much. Thanks for everything, GOAT!
We have a Super Bowl!
Unbelievably, but these days the Super Bowl took a backseat. At the end of the day, the two best teams will meet on Super Sunday this February 12. The Eagles and Chiefs had the best record in the league (14-3), the two MVP-favorite quarterbacks, and an absurd amount of talent. There are many stories to follow before the game. First, of course, is the Mahomes vs. Hurts matchup, the first between African-American quarterbacks in Super Bowl history. The Chiefs’ QB already has a hall of fame career in just his fifth year as a starter, but he still has the thorn in his side of playing a great Super Bowl, since in his first attempt he did it only in the last quarter, 3 years ago vs San Francisco, and on his second chance he just ran for his life and couldn’t score, 2 years ago vs Tampa Bay. Hurts, on the other hand, had the best year of his life, and it’s his chance at redemption after being benched in the college national championship 4 years ago with Alabama. Another angle is the Kelce brothers, both already with a ring and also headed for the hall of fame. Jason, the lineman, is #1 in the league in his position, and a Philadelphia all-timer. Travis, for his part, wants to catch up with Gronk as the best tight end ever.
Finally, there’s Andy Reid. Today in his 10th year in Kansas City, Reid was finally able to get the ring in 2020 that was denied to him so much as Philadelphia’s head coach for 13 years. Reid is loved in Philly, which is now run by a protégé of his, Nick Sirianni. Will the master or the apprentice win? Will the Super Bowl return to Kansas City or Philadelphia?
